We are looking for a passionate Sustainability Research and Stewardship Specialist with exceptional research, analytical, and writing skills to join our dynamic team. In this cross-functional role, you will play a key part in advancing the work of the Cardano Sustainability Group, dividing your time between sustainability research and stewardship activities. We have ambitious sustainable investment policies and commitments, and we seek a candidate who can drive and enhance these efforts.

Your team

Cardano is a frontrunner on sustainability investing and in this fast-moving industry, we want to retain our leadership position. The Cardano Sustainability Group is a team of driven professionals. Within Cardano, we are responsible for the development and implementation of the Sustainable Investment Policy. This includes our research and stewardship activities. We work closely with the commercial teams, portfolio managers, and other functions within our offices in Rotterdam and London to achieve our goals. We also work together with data and research providers.

The Cardano Sustainability Group consists of 25+ individuals. This role is a cross functional role across the Research and Stewardship sub-teams currently consisting of respectively 4,5 and 4 FTEs.

Your role

Your role and your responsibilities include:

  • Conducting engagements on water in line with the Cardano Investment Framework and commitments.
  • Assist other members of the stewardship team with their engagement activities (engagement themes will vary from environmental topics to social topics, based on the needs of the team and the candidate’s interests).
  • Be involved in the voting process for the Cardano managed funds.
  • Screening investments against the Cardano Sustainable Investment Framework. The main focus will be on climate-related topics.
  • Analyzing sustainable bonds according to proprietary policy.
  • Interpreting data and quantitative models, revising quantitative models and collaborating with data providers.
  • Contribute to the content for annual and quarterly reporting cycles, as well as for client commitments as needed.
  • Supporting the research and stewardship team in responding to RfP’s and assessments of our activities.
  • Responding to questions from clients and/or client teams.
