The role

As the Sustainability Lead Consultant for EcoVadis and Sustainability Ratings, you will spearhead our sustainability ratings work, guiding companies in developing their sustainability management systems and driving sustainability disclosure efforts. You will lead the practice by managing consulting projects across ratings, reporting and implementation, engaging with clients, mentoring the team, and driving strategic and business development initiatives. What You Deliver: 

Project Leadership 

  • Lead and manage consulting projects from inception to completion, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery. 
  • Set project culture, emphasizing the importance of quality and prioritization of reviews. 
  • Interpret data and outcomes comfortably to deliver the “so what” simply and coherently. 
  • Provide tangible leadership, setting a best practice example on project work. 
  • Support and teach creativity and innovation in teams, acting as an inspirational leader. 

Client Engagement 

  • Establish senior client relationships and contribute to the development of a client-focused organization. 
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders. 
  • Understand client needs and objectives to provide tailored consulting services. 
  • Ensure client satisfaction and address any concerns promptly, managing escalations on complex projects. 
  • Act as key client relationship manager for multiple accounts, including the development of work plans, schedules, and budgets. 
  • Showcase best practices in engaging and building relationships with clients. 

Team Management 

  • Lead and mentor direct reports, consisting of 3+ consultants and analysts. 
  • Motivate, coach, guide, and evaluate these direct reports, supporting their professional development. 
  • Ensure clear performance expectations within the practice, monitoring, encouraging, and mentoring for effective performance. 
  • Foster a climate of trust and openness, promoting a culture of recognition and constructive feedback. 
  • Lead recurring practice meetings and find the most efficient yet engaging communication streams for the SA team. 
  • Lead others in clarifying problems and developing solutions by building cross-topic partnerships – building consensus, persuading, and influencing. 

Strategic Planning 

  • Lead the development of the practice’s strategic plan in collaboration with the Group Lead and the management team. 
  • Execute the practice’s strategic plan, focusing on process improvement, service development, expertise, and knowledge creation within the practice and team. 
  • Develop strategic recommendations and action plans based on data analysis, industry knowledge, and best practices. 
  • Lead creativity and innovation in practice, including use of new software solutions and processes 
  • Encourage a culture of recognition and constructive feedback. 

Business Development 

  • Lead the commercial results of the practice and collaborate closely with the commercial team (sales and marketing) on service development, proposals, and other commercial activities. 
  • Identify business opportunities and write proposals for new business. 
  • Contribute to Nexio Projects’ innovation and thought leadership around practice expertise. 
  • Analyze sector trends, innovations, regulations, etc., to assure good comprehension of the upcoming challenges and opportunities for our customers. 
  • Develop materials expressing thought leadership and opinion leadership, such as case studies, expertise letters, press articles, etc., thereby feeding our marketing channels and prospection process. 
  • Increase Nexio Projects’ visibility and influence in the practice area. 
  • Identify and represent Nexio Projects at events, workgroups, and associations.
