Our SimaPro software has been the standard for experts in calculating LCA’s for decades and we are on the verge of introducing the next step: a platform which enables a broad group of sectors, companies and audiences to learn about the facts of their sustainability, tailor made for different user groups. With the new platform we want to create and develop a new market, once again.

Get to know your team

We are a motivated and growing team of LCA data experts, scientists and engineers. Our mission is to bring the highest quality and most extensive life cycle inventory (LCI) data sources and life cycle impact assessment (LCIA) methods available to customers and partners and to help data developers manage and maintain their data in our solutions.

Your job as our LCA Data Specialist

There are many LCI databases and LCIA methods available but often these are disconnected. In this pivotal role you contribute to bringing inventory data of various sources and innumerous impact assessment methods in one consistent SimaPro database. We are currently starting the development of SimaPro’s new database management system – the new platform where data transformation from various data sourced to SimaPro format – and you will take part in this innovative project

As part of your role, you will consider customer demands and engage with external database providers, impact assessment method developers and internal experts to meet SimaPro users’ needed in an accessible manner.

• Maintain and expand our data offerings in PRé solutions by developing algorithms and code to implement LCI databases and impact assessment methods.
• Active participation in the development of SimaPro’s new data management system
• Ensure high-quality data supply through interactions coordination with data and database providers and operators.
• Work on exchange of models between various software systems (interoperability), metadata and nomenclature.
• Collaborate in international fora to discuss life cycle data management needs such as the Global LCA Data network (GLAD).
