How you can make a difference

As an intern human rights in our Global Compliance and Ethics team you contribute directly to the exciting journey of delivering Ahold Delhaize’s human rights strategy and sustainability due diligence roadmap. You get the chance to explore and support on several human rights topics at one of the world’s largest food retail groups. Joining the company alongside many other interns, you’ll be onboarding together with peers as part of your exciting learning journey. Your new job and workplace.

As an intern you directly contribute to our due diligence roadmap on human rights, together with your colleagues from the Global Compliance and Ethics team. You support the Manager Human Rights on key deliverables of the human rights roadmap, with specific focus on supply chains of our own brand products. Where possible, we will also look into your personal strengths and interests for selecting available projects as we onboard you. You will support activities such as:

• Setting up guidance documents on our salient human rights topics
• Support the sustainability risk assessment process
• Contribute to the content of our annual report
• Support on our social compliance program.

This is a six-month internship starting in February 2025, you will work 32-40 hours per week, partly from our headquarters in Zaandam and partly from home. You will learn about different aspects of human rights due diligence in different food and non-food supply chains, think about: identifying risks, mitigating measures, monitoring and reporting, communication etc. You will have contact with different departments (sustainability, sourcing, finance, communication), our Ahold Delhaize Brands and external stakeholders. You will be involved in key projects of our human rights roadmap. At the same time, there is also room to work on smaller projects yourself. That makes this internship versatile and varied, where you will learn a lot about different aspects within Ahold Delhaize.
