Internship CSR (ESG)

Tasks and responsibilities:

At Bleckmann, we are dedicated to pioneering sustainable logistics solutions that not only minimize our environmental impact but also foster social responsibility and uphold the highest standards of governance. This assignment is an opportunity for an intern to contribute significantly to our ESG initiatives, helping us to identify actionable and impactful sustainability goals.

The objective of this assignment is for you to conduct thorough research and analysis to identify realistic sustainability goals that Bleckmann can aim to achieve within the next 3-5 years, covering environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects. These goals should be designed to enhance our commitment to sustainability while ensuring operational excellence and stakeholder satisfaction.

Scope of research

Environmental Sustainability:

• Investigate ways to reduce carbon footprint across our logistics and supply chain operations.
• Explore opportunities for waste reduction, recycling, and the implementation of circular economy principles.
• Evaluate the potential for adopting renewable energy sources and improving energy efficiency.

Social Responsibility:

• Examine initiatives to ensure fair labor practices and improve workplace safety within our operations and supply chain.
• Identify strategies to support community engagement and development, focusing on the communities where we operate.
• Assess ways to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within our workforce and leadership.

Governance:

• Analyze best practices in corporate governance relevant to sustainability, including transparency, ethical business practices, and stakeholder engagement.
• Review the current regulatory landscape affecting ESG in the logistics sector and anticipate future changes.
• Propose mechanisms for integrating ESG considerations into our corporate decision-making processes.

Deliverables

• Comprehensive ESG Report: A detailed report documenting the research findings, analyses, and a set of proposed sustainability goals across the ESG spectrum. This report should include an actionable roadmap for achieving these goals, highlighting priorities and timelines.
• Presentation: A presentation that succinctly summarizes the research findings, proposed goals, and the roadmap for implementation. This presentation will be delivered to senior management and relevant stakeholders.

Evaluation criteria

• Comprehensiveness and depth of the ESG research
• Relevance, innovativeness, and feasibility of the proposed goals
• Quality and clarity of the final report and presentation

Support and resources

Bleckmann will provide the intern with access to necessary data, industry reports, and internal experts in sustainability, HR, and corporate governance. Additionally, the intern will be encouraged to engage with external ESG experts and resources to enrich their research.
