International Sustainability Manager

The International Sustainability Manager is a new position and will define Five Guys’ position and policies on sustainability topics and lead the development and implementation of a dedicated sustainability strategy. This will be done in close collaboration with senior management and functional leadership.

This position can be based in The Netherlands or UK.

The International Sustainability Manager will be responsible for managing sustainability communications at Five Guys International and supporting wider group requirements where necessary. This will be done while ensuring appropriate messaging that serves international needs while remaining consistent with the wider company positioning.

This position will provide direct support in the areas of strategy definition, and program development including guideline creation for functional areas, communications, and stakeholder engagement.

About the Role:

• Conduct materiality analysis on sustainability topics for the business.
• Drive definition and alignment at executive leadership level of company’s position on relevant sustainability areas e.g. Clean Product, GMO, Animal Welfare, Waste/Packaging, Carbon Footprint (Supply Chain and Store Operations).
• Develop a sustainability strategy for Five Guys’ international business, strengthening the International Five Guys Brand image and perception.
• Identify and engage key external partners and third parties to effectively execute strategy.
• Effectively communicate strategy and priorities to senior leaders. Conduct effective internal communications and upskilling on sustainability topics.
• Formulate sustainability strategy, including guidelines for functional areas: Supply Chain (specification development and alignment, waste management), Operations (store waste management/energy use), Construction (energy, waste, water i.e. LEED certification).
• Provide SME Sustainability Advisory- Beyond beef and into other ingredient areas, Risk management, Internal employee engagement, communications and upskilling.
• Supplier Relationship Management -End to End SC management (farm to store),Farms (Supervising addition of qualifying farms),Processers/Packers, and Distribution partners.
