We are currently looking for an ESG Controller to join us at Amsterdam Schiphol, Wavin Nederland B.V., an Orbia business. If you want to make a difference and work for a purpose-led company, please read on.

Main purpose

Orbia is a global company with operations in multiple sectors, focused on addressing critical global challenges such as water and food security, decarbonization & Energy Transition, information access and connectivity, Orbia’s sustainability strategy is deeply embedded in its operations and solutions, with a strong focus on creating circular economies, reducing carbon emissions, and advancing water resilience.

As ESG controller you will play a key role in driving Orbia’s Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy by ensuring the integrity, completeness, and reliability of Orbia´s ESG data, as well as compliance, reporting accuracy, and alignment with global ESG standards and frameworks. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams (consisting of sustainability, legal, HR and other key functions) to integrate ESG principles into Orbia’s financial planning, reporting, risk management and decision making processes, contributing to the company’s sustainability objectives and long-term value creation.

Main responsibilities:

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Implement ESG principles into Orbia’s financial planning, reporting, risk management and decision making processes, contributing to the company’s sustainability objectives and long-term value creation.
  • Develop this newly created domain within the Finance organization and act as a finance business partner for the different functions exposed to this new ESG legislation both Inside and outside of Finance

Data Management

  • Support In collecting & consolidating ESG related data across the company and within the dedicated ESG system
  • Establish and maintain reporting policies and internal controls to ensure accurate ESG data collection & reporting

Reporting & Compliance

  • Ensure timely and accurate ESG-related (financial) reporting & disclosures in collaboration with the finance and sustainability teams.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure adherence to new ESG reporting requirements from a financial controllership perspective.
  • Design, implement, and monitor a risk-based internal control framework over ESG data collection & reporting processes ensuring high reliability of ESG reported data.
  • Collaborate with Internal control team to integrate ESG risks into the overall enterprise risk management (ERM) framework.
  • Support internal and external ESG audits, ensuring proper controls and assurance processes are in place
  • Train key employee groups on reporting processes, controls, need/value of reporting.

Strategy & Metrics

  • Support with the development and tracking of ESG-related goals, metrics and strategies to support the realization of Orbia’s ESG objectives
  • Work with business groups across Orbia to align on, implement, and document key ESG performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Assess and help quantify the financial effects of ESG-related risks and opportunities within Orbia’s operations, supply chains, and markets.
