Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Specialist – EMEA

As the ESG Specialist, you will play a key role in developing, implementing, and managing our company’s ESG strategy. You will be responsible for ensuring that our business operations align with the highest standards of environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and governance practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sustainability and stakeholder engagement.

We are moving from our current HQ Arnhem office (next to train station Arnhem Centraal) to a new office in central Utrecht in the summer of 2025.

Core Responsibilities:

You will be joining an experienced ESG team with opportunities to develop new and existing ESG/ sustainability skills in the context of a global healthcare business. Your core responsibilities will include supporting ESG data gathering and stakeholder engagement, but not limited to:

• Internal ESG engagement – collaborate in training, eLearnings and Sharepoint.
• Working in collaboration with Marketing and Human Resources to develop our ESG calendar campaigns.
• Supplier ESG assessment and engagement.
• ESG data gathering and reporting – focusing on Social aspects.

General Responsibilities:

As a member of the ESG team you will provide support in the following areas. Workload could shift between these areas depending upon the demands being placed on the business and your interest areas.

1. ESG Strategy Development:

• Support in the development and implementation of a comprehensive ESG strategy for Europe aligned with the company’s values, goals, and industry practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ESG considerations into business plans, products, and practices.

2. Environmental Stewardship:

• Assist in the evaluation of green claims related to our products and operations.

3. Social Responsibility:

• Support engagement with key partners regarding our charitable giving initiatives
• Backing initiatives that enhance social responsibility, including community engagement, and employee well-being.

4. Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement:

• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, suppliers, customers and communities, to communicate ESG initiatives and gather feedback.
• Collecting ESG data and prepare regular reports for internal stakeholders.
