Job Overview

Corporate Performance & Accountability (CP&A)

WBCSD’s CP&A team is seeking to position WBCSD and its members at the forefront of systems transformation through collective action, accountability & innovation. We collaborate to optimize impact both internally, and externally, and work in a highly matrixed environment to support member companies in enabling sustainability performance, accountability and valuation. We work with members, partners, standard-setters and other NGO’s across the ecosystem to define a transformative approach to transparency that promotes and enables systemic resilience & sustainable growth.

Operating at the apex of the global transparency agenda, our work on Transparency & Disclosure (T&D) focuses on building collaborative solutions and engagement that enhance credible corporate transparency, leverage reporting for long-term value creation; advance corporate-investor engagement and shape strategic narratives required to advance corporate performance and accountability.

T&D apply corporate reporting, sustainability and business expertise to inform and enable our member responses to financial accounting and standard connectivity, development and adoption of mandatory and voluntary sustainability reporting requirements as well as external engagement on corporate transparency with capital providers and impacted communities.

This unique role will be responsible for driving the on-going strategy and execution of WBCSD’s work in the T&D action area with our members and partners. As a senior leader in a growing team, it will be reporting to Senior Director, Corporate Performance and Accountability who is based in Amsterdam.

Responsibilities and Duties

Leadership & Strategy
· Be responsible for owning and delivering the CP&A strategy to drive improved business performance and transparency and for initiatives in T&D Action Area
· Develop the Preparer Forum for Sustainability Disclosures (PFSD) to be the go-to resource for global business on sustainability reporting
· Provide expertise across WBCSD on the evolving disclosure landscape, engaging on internal and external disclosure initiatives across climate, equity and nature as well as sector specific developments.
· Be responsible for managing key partnerships linked to the sustainability disclosure agenda and represent WBCSD and CP&A in relevant forums, conferences, and working groups to share insights and learnings.
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.

Engagement and Advocacy:
· Stay abreast of global trends, regulations, and standards in sustainability reporting and ensure WBCSD’s strategy is aligned with or ahead of these developments.
· Engage with external stakeholders, including investors, regulators, and civil society, to promote the importance of transparency and accountability in corporate sustainability
· Serve as the primary point of contact for member companies on issues related to transparency and disclosure.

Capacity Building and Support:
· Develop and deliver training programs, workshops, and resources to enhance member companies’ capabilities in sustainability reporting.
· Facilitate peer learning and sharing of best practices among member companies.
· Support internal upskilling and information sharing.

Collaboration and Innovation:
· Foster collaboration between WBCSD’s various programs and initiatives to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to sustainability reporting.
· Drive innovation in transparency and disclosure practices by exploring new methodologies, technologies, and frameworks.
· Focus on Design and deliver high-impact catalytic interventions through CP&A workstreams and other channels that support enhanced member transparency
