BMW Group is op het gebied van milieuvriendelijk en duurzaam ondernemen binnen de automobielindustrie opnieuw de nummer één van de wereld. Tot deze conclusie komt SAM Group in het meest recente onderzoek voor de internationaal toonaangevende Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI). Met dit resultaat kan BMW Group haar toppositie van de afgelopen drie jaar met succes continueren en is nu dus voor de vierde keer op rij brancheleider. BMW Group is de enige onderneming in de autobranche die sinds de start van de Index in 1999 zonder onderbreking in de Dow Jones Sustainability Index World en in de Europese Dow Jones Sustainability STOXX Index is vertegenwoordigd.

TNT handhaaft zijn leiderschap in de Industrial Transportation sector en de supersector Industrial Goods and Services van de Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI). Voor het tweede achtereenvolgende jaar heeft TNT het hoogste gescoord van alle bedrijven in de DJSI. Dit zijn de conclusies uit een rapport dat vandaag in Zürich is gepresenteerd door SAM, het onderzoeksbureau dat de duurzaamheidsrapportage en -prestaties van meer dan 1.100 bedrijven heeft beoordeeld. TNT scoorde 92% uit 100 en haalde daarnaast ook nog eens de hoogste score in elk van de drie dimensies -Economisch, Milieu, and Sociaal- waaruit de Index is opgebouwd.

Uit de vandaag bekend geworden review van de Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) blijkt dat de Nederlandse ondernemingen TNT en Unilever hun wereldwijde sectorleiderschap hebben geprolongeerd. TNT blijft super sector leider voor de sector “Industrial Goods & Services” en Unilever in de sector “Food & Beverage”.
AirFrance/KLM is wederom sectorleider voor de sector “Travel & Leisure”. Akzo Nobel, dat vorig jaar DSM passeerde, werd van de troon gestoten door BASF voor de sector “Chemicals”. Ook Philips moest het veld ruimen voor een Duitse onderneming. adidas AG nam namelijk de koppositie over in de sector “Personal Household & Goods”.

SAM, the international investment group focused on sustainability, announced the start of the annual review for the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI). For the tenth time since the initial assessment for the indexes in 1999, SAM has sent out invitations to the largest 2’500 companies worldwide to participate in the company’s yearly analysis. The assessment covers long-term economic, environmental and social criteria and reflects general as well as industry-specific sustainability trends.
