On 16 june the conference HUMAN: the Dutch multi-stakeholder Conference on Human Rights and Business will be organized.
The HUMAN Conference has the specific goal to start dialogue between a variety of stakeholders on the issue of corporate human rights responsibilities. It is unique in its kind, because it stimulates multinational corporations, investors, civil society organizations and government agencies to work together, share experiences and perspectives, and to critically assess the
status quo of the implementation of the UNGPs in the Netherlands. For more information you could have a look at the conference website, www.humanrights-business.nl.
This year, the theme of the Conference is ‘Towards Social Impact’. Our keynote speakers – Selima Ahmad (Vice-President Nitol-Niloy Group, Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Marcela Manubens (Global VP Social Impact, Unilever) and Stephanie Maier (Head CSR, Aviva Investors) – will share with you their views on how to create social value through business and investment.
Also, you can join thematic introductory or advanced workshops hosted by key organisations in the field, such as Shift, Unilever and True Price (Reporting on Human Rights), KPN (Integrating Human Rights), SOMO (Setting up a stakeholder dialogue), MVO Nederland (Setting a long-term social ambition), Human Rights@Work (Human Rights 1.0) and more. A full list of the workshops can be found on www.humanrights-business.nl/break-out-sessions/.
