The first group of companies in scope of the CSRD are about to start their first reporting year. While much of the focus has been on compliance with the reporting regulation, the CSRD could, and maybe should, be used as a tool to drive sustainability strategy and business transformation. Similarly, the current strategy will inform the sustainability reporting and to a large part determine its structure and focus.
There is an undeniable link between Strategy and Sustainability reporting, and reporting entities can benefit from this link if it is understood and used effectively.
Subject
During the CSRD Live Event: ESG Strategy revisioned at our office in Amstelveen on October 23rd from 15:15h-18:30h, we will discuss how the CSRD relates to your strategy and how a well thought-out strategy will be instrumental to a robust reporting process:
- How to connect your material sustainability matters to your existing strategy?
- What strategy elements are required to report on, and what are the implications thereof?
- How to make a change in the actual world: from reporting requirements to (strategic) steering?
- Why/how to integrate sustainability issues into their long-term business plans and strategies, and ensure that their operations are aligned with their sustainability goals?
We will provide practical examples of how to set strategic goals and ensure CSRD-compliant KPIs. By the end of this session, we hope to have inspired you on how to improve your ESG strategy as you prepare for the CSRD. Our aim is to provide you with sufficient knowledge to take the next steps in your ESG strategy and reporting journey and effectively connect these.
