In partnership with the Fourth Sector Group, Leaders on Purpose published the 2020 open letter on “Cross sector collaboration for a purpose-first economy”. In this historic letter, some of the world’s most progressive CEOs of companies such as Philips, Danone, L’Oreal and Interface call on governments to ‘Built a Better’ post-COVID economy instead of ‘Building Back’ – and commit to lead by example. They urge for businesses and governments to join in accelerating the transition towards an inclusive, resilient, sustainable economy that recognizes and enables purpose-first businesses and the societies they serve, to thrive.
The letter outlines an actionable shared vision of the purpose-first economy, encompasses concrete policy recommendations to “Build Better” by recognizing and enabling purpose-driven business in reimagining and remaking our global systems for a more equitable economic recovery, and achieving the global 2030 agenda in a post COVID world.
