Your mission:

Epson has a dynamic opportunity for a Chemical Corporate Sustainability Manager!

You’ll work closely with Seiko Epson Corporation HQ and Epson Europe, shaping strategies around the latest regulatory trends and ensuring Epson’s complete compliance with chemical legislation. That’s not all!  You’ll be the voice of Epson in industry discussions, working with trade associations, policymakers, and submitting key reports to ensure compliance and sustainability advocating for Epson across Europe.

The Chemical Corporate Sustainability Manager reports directly into the Corporate Sustainability Director and collaborates with a passionate team of CSR professionals.

Epson gets the importance of real work-life balance. This hybrid role allows you to work three days from home and two days from our Amsterdam offices.

What you will do:

Tracks European regulatory requirements and prepares for implementation and market access

  • Tracks regulatory developments relating to the broad classification of chemicals in inks and products, product safety, printing inks for food contact materials and market access requirements. Tracking covers a full range of activities including monitoring, reporting, assessing, lobbying and, planning for implementation, with the aim of being the EEB recognised expert on this topic
  • Advises HQ in Japan as well as Product Management, Product Operations and European Marketing Department on implementation of new legislative requirements as well as compliance with chemical legislation across Europe
  • Manages the chemical compliance on food contact material matters by commissioning laboratory migration tests, analyses laboratory results and prepares substance registration dossiers for the Swiss Ordinance on Food Contact materials
  • Prepare various reports to meet internal and external reporting obligations; this responsibility is supported by other departments who should provide the relevant sales information

Represents Epson to intercompany alliances and policy makers

  • Represents Epson to government authorities, in national trade associations and inter-company alliances concerned with Chemical and Market Access matters

Marketing and sales support

  • Supports Product Management and Sales to understand chemical compliance requirements
  • Answers internal/external customer enquiries on chemical matters related to Epson’s products
  • Prepares dossier and applies for various eco labels and/or marketing related certifications
