Vanderlande
Assignment
Our products consist of many parts and many materials. Some parts we produce in our own manufacturing locations, but many parts are sourced via our supply chain. At this moment we are defining Material Passports for our products and the parts they consist of, based on the net weight of all parts. But during production, waste is created (for instance due to drilling, sawing, machining, cutting etc.). Vanderlande wants to quantify the amount of material waste that is created during the production and wants to know how the waste is processed.
The assignment is to develop a methodology to quantify and categorize the waste of materials during the production process of our products and execute this methodology by applying it to one of our products.
