Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)

Start Date: January 2025

Work hours: 40 hrs p/w (full-time, flexible)

Location: Remote/Hybrid (within +/- 3 hour CET or EST; candidate must have an existing permit to live and work in the country they reside)

Contract: 1 year with the possibility for an extension by mutual consent

Position Summary

GRI is an independent NGO and standard-setter and over the last 26 years, our standards have created a global language used by organizations to provide transparency. At GRI we enable organizations to assess and report on the environmental, social and economic impacts of their activities. We also help build organizational capacity for sustainability reporting: from our Academy training courses to working with licensing partners to enable digital reporting with GRI’s standards. Together, the skills, capabilities, and data we create help build sustainable, long-term value. Working at GRI, you will be part of unlocking positive change in the world.

We are looking for a proactive, hands-on Community Manager who is passionate about driving sustainability practices and building meaningful relationships with organizations worldwide.
In this role, you’ll implement strategies to maintain and grow GRI Community, by ensuring that the Community meets the needs of sustainability professionals across the world.

Responsibilities

Delivery

  • Manage long-term professional relationships with relevant organizations, including GRI Community members, potential clients of GRI’s commercial products and services, and other key players in the sustainability reporting landscape.
  • Work closely with the team to implement a comprehensive global go-to-market strategy, and proactively identify and implement relevant business development activities to effectively promote GRI’s products and services in the market.
  • Lead the development and delivery of the GRI Community program, including collective onboarding calls, the online program, facilitation of roundtables, and direct engagement with members through calls.
  • Use data and insight to develop new support and development areas for the community, formulating and implementing innovations to the program.
  • Craft development plans, arrange training sessions, and ensure continuous learning while coaching and counseling for direct reports.

Engagement

  • Regularly hold meetings to gather feedback from sustainability professionals and use this insight to implement changes that will ensure the GRI Community offers value to its members.
  • Represent GRI and act as a spokesperson for the organization in country or region-specific forums, virtual and in-person engagements, trainings, and workshops, as delegated.
