We’re on the lookout for an exceptional interim Sustainability Lead to join our Amsterdam-based team. The position is for 4-5 days per week over 6 months, starting in November 2024, to cover the current Sustainability Lead’s maternity leave. In this position you get to be the one leading the development and execution of Tony’s sustainability strategy.
As the interim Sustainability Lead, you will take the reins on driving our sustainability agenda, ensuring seamless alignment with our overall organizational goals. You will be influential in shaping our sustainability agenda from strategy to execution, leading the development of yearly plans thorough analysis, business cases, and workshops with our Chiefs and leadership team. You’ll be responsible for monitoring, reporting, and overseeing governance frameworks and projects.

Recognizing areas for improvement, we’ve committed to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), aiming for a 42% reduction in our carbon footprint over the next 5 years. As our Sustainability Lead, you will be at the forefront in guiding us toward achieving this ambitious goal.
In addition to managing certifications such as B Corp and Fairtrade, you’ll be the go-to person for all sustainability matters for both internal and external business partners. Your responsibilities will also extend to monitoring and reporting progress on business plans in collaboration with the leadership and finance teams. Lastly, you will lead our journey towards CSRD readiness.
This role directly reports to the Chief of Impact and Operations, and as an individual contributor, you will have a direct impact on our sustainability journey. Here is what you will do:
- Drive the development of impactful sustainability agenda on a global scale.
- Oversee strategic projects for sustainability, taking charge of key strategic priorities, and ensure they are fully on track to drive Tony’s growth ambitions.
- Influence and engage internal business partners in the successful execution of the sustainability agenda.
- Lead our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint, in line with our SBTi commitment.
- Act as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for our sustainability agenda, maintaining effective communication with both internal and external business partners.
- Create and deliver management-level presentations, address ad hoc questions, and prepare documents for decisions or updates.
- Manage the re-certification process for B Corp, fostering organizational engagement and a continuous improvement framework.
- Lead the sustainability reporting obligations, such as CSRD implementation.
