In December 2022 ABN AMRO Bank announced its Climate Strategy. The strategy defines the intermediate targets, principles and key levers on the basis of which, together with our clients, we will deliver on net zero carbon emissions and a maximum 1.5°C global temperature rise by 2050.

The Shipping Clients team is looking for a flexible and hands-on Climate Lead who helps with the further development, implementation and review of the climate strategy for the Deep Sea and  Short Sea Shipping sector and the Intermodal sectors (Rail and Containers).
If you like to pioneer and help ABN AMRO’s Shipping Clients team to execute our climate ambitions and at the same time advise and assist our Clients to reach their climate targets, this position may suit you!

Your job

  • You will support the the CIC Shipping Clients team that operates from our offices in Norway, Greece and the Netherlands.
  • The focus will be on steering and coordinating the further development and implementation of the climate plan for the Shipping Clients team, whilst making recommendations on processes, tooling and ambition level.
  • As Climate lead, you will also contribute your expertise to activities related to the Climate Plan, such as amongst others climate scenario analysis, climate heatmap and managing the carbon allocation process regarding new and existing transactions.
  • In addition, you will be part of the Advisory team and directly involved in the commercial dialogue with Clients to develop new ideas and business opportunities and support our Clients with reaching their climate targets and ambitions.
  • You ’ll take a leading to ensure that it meets or exceeds the bank’s climate ambition whilst maintaining our key focus on supporting our clients in their transition to more sustainable business models.
  • You will liaise with key stakeholders within the bank such as Sustainability Centre of Excellence, Sustainable Finance Regulations Program, Sector Expertise, Risk, Grids and Finance.
