Start Date: A.S.A.P., Full-time (40 hrs/week; flexible)

Location: Remote (within +/- 1 hour CET; candidate must have an existing permit to live and work in the country they reside)

Contract: 4-6 months with the possibility for an extension by mutual consent

Position Summary

Our GRI Standards are used by over 10,000 companies each year, including 78% of the largest 250 in the world to identify and manage their impacts.

We are seeking a Senior Standards Officer for a 4-6 month maternity leave replacement. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of our leading sustainability reporting standards and join a rapidly growing international organization in the field of sustainability reporting.

In this role, your primary focus will be to contribute to multi-stakeholder processes to revise and develop the GRI Standards by coordinating meetings, sharing documents, and organizing agendas. Additionally, you will prepare international events for the Climate or Labor project teams. Your responsibilities will include researching, coordinating, and facilitating expert technical groups and other stakeholder processes; analyzing and interpreting expert and stakeholder feedback; setting up systems to track project progress; and collaborating with internal stakeholders on various project outcomes.

Reporting to the project Standards Manager, you will assist in advancing the project, including supervising the development of content for some of the topics within the Standard. The role requires immediate experience, alongside on-the-job learning and opportunities to deepen your knowledge about the GRI Standards, the standards development process, and sustainable development topics.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the GRI Standards, preferably in the field of Climate or Labor.
  • Provide project management support by coordinating the activities of the expert technical group, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and materials, and collating key outcomes.
  • Present on sustainable development topics and research findings, facilitating discussions with experts and stakeholders.
  • Develop key engagement tools, such as surveys, for various expert and stakeholder engagement processes.
  • Analyse qualitative feedback from consultations by compiling and organizing responses, synthesizing and interpreting large amounts of technical input, researching and proposing solutions to address the feedback, and presenting findings to specific audiences.
  • Create high-quality written materials, including presentations, briefing documents, departmental documents, and program proposals.
  • Support the Standards Manager in engagement processes to secure stakeholder input.
  • Contribute to the execution of Technical Committees or Working Groups meetings.
  • Represent GRI at external and internal events related to the GRI Standards.
